yesterday you've read this blog in 158 : thank you very much !
Today I will talk about 'staccato' or guitar staccato technique, as well described in wikipedia :
Staccato (Italian for detached) is a form of musical articulation. In modern notation it signifies a note of shortened duration, separated from the note that may follow by silence. It has been described by theorists and appeared in music since the 18th century.
To obtain a staccato sound on classical guitar, there are at least two possibilities
1) with the left hand reducing pressure on fingers without detaching them from the guitar string.
2) stopping the strings with the right hand, after having played, leaning over .
in this case the right hand will have to stop and then immediately play again
When I decided to compose a piece with Guitar Staccato Technique
I've just decided to name this piece Ghost because it It seems a short word
for guitar staccato technique : G.(ho)S.T.
This thing has given me the inspiration also because a note staccato is also a ghost note
so I decided to keep even in shadow the tonic note, so the tonic note there is but is not seen just as a ghost...
Staccato technique requires lots of practice, especially right hand staccato
so if you like my composition Ghost you could follow the video and the score :
