Hello everyone,

This page refers to the live streaming I held on YouTube where I talk about

the original manuscript of the old style gavotte Gavota al Estilo Antiguo composed

by Agustin Barrios Mangoré in El Salvador in the year 1941

(almost the same period as Julia Florida).

I noticed that in the videos on YouTube many guitarists do not play the

original fingerings left hand of Barrios, so I show them to you in this video and

in this Guitar Blog full of very interesting content.

Hello my guitar fiends,

welcome to my Guitar Blog ,

it helps me a lot !

I composed the pieces you can listen on my video

in the years from 2014 to around 2019.

In that period

I explored tonal music very close

to Pop music but

always with the classical guitar technique

and very Segovia Style.

I was also exploring open tunings like in Renoir.

I was exploring French music and obviously

I always had the idea of composing pieces for

the TREMOLO guitar technique that were very easy for the left hand.

The Gardener is inspired by ancient Renaissance music

so some parts sound like the Renaissance

other parts are more modern,

it is contemporary classical guitar piece

and when I compose I feel very free.

In The gardener I changed the key,

the speed and also the rhythm

from four quarters to three quarters.

Having said all this The Gardener is an easy piece to play and without barre.

Henry Purcell 1659 - 1695 was an English composer of Baroque music.

This is the guitar tabs of one of his minuets, in the guitar style of Andres Segovia.

This piece is very simple but if you try to play with

the sound and soul of Segovia you will realize that

his way of feeling the rhythm and the music

were wonderful and difficult to imitate. Good work.
