Left Hand Technique - Guitar Chromatic Scales

Hello ,

here some useful exercise with TABS

for the classical guitar left hand technique.

here for Guitar Chromatic Scales

You can find also ispiration and useful advice

at my guitar website Classical Guitar Video

at this link :

https://www.classicalguitarvideo.com/teachpag/lefthand.html

It is very important

to have precise plan for each left hand technique

exactly as you do for the various right hand techniques

( as TREMOLO , Rasgueado , arpeggio and more )

for the left hand

it could be Barrée , Vibrato , Legato ( slurs , hammer on / pull off )

but the most important thing if you are a beginner
or if you start to playing again after
a few yers or many years

are Scales . Scales scales scales !

So we start with chromatic scales

If you are abeginner in this page some guitar exercise with tabs

If you are out of shape I raccomend you also

my Segovia Scales page of this Blog :

Segovia Scales ( English )

Segovia Scales ( Italian )

                                               CHROMATIC SCALES by Daniele Magli

first scale :

at V position with index ( 1 ) at five fret play it and then
medium left hand finger at six , anular (finger number 3 ) at seven
and little finger number 4 at the 8 fret… but don't remove finger
until you are done with the first string and so on tll 6th string

this may seems easy but this chromatic scales in V° posotion

is the bases the technical foundations

on which you will then build

your left hand guitar technique

on how you make this scale - slowy and cleanly - it depends

your fate as guitarist and all your future for every style you will play.

( it is a little exaggerated but true : ) )

Second Scales :
I call it "The Spider " because your left hand seems
like a spider when it goes a little fast…
but be patient at the beginning play slowly for a few days.

The Spider ( from Daniele Magli Guitar Method / scales )

Always start at five fret, the V° position
( the perfect position in my opinion )

start with Index ( finger number one )
and then play it with your right hand
and then anular at the eight 8 fret
of your guitar, remove your ring finger from 8 and

press the medium ( 2 ) at the sixth fret
without ever detaching your index number 1 finger from the
V fret . You can detache index only at the end of the string

here is the not easy movement of my Spider exercise :

the little finger ( 4 ) goes down to the eight fret
without detaching the index and medium fingers
from the frets but
keeping the ring/anular ( 3 ) finger high

( be patient at the beginning the left hand middle finger rises
or the ring finger falls … try and try )

the play the same all the strings :

Third guitar scale , along the fretboard - fingerbaord

just like the first scale in a chromatic way ( every frets)

but whe you arrive at the little finger 4,  brings the index (1)
by sliding ( portamento ) a fret forward and starts again till 12 fret.
