Year 2012

my new composition in dedicated to the Passion for classical guitar.
It is a piece a little difficult because it has many classical guitar techniques:
free stroke for arpeggios, rest stroke for scales, p, i  for staccato, rolled chords, legato, portamento, octaves and others techniques.

I composed ​​Passion as an improvisation and is dedicated to my,
 and your, passion for the classical guitar .

first to listen to my new work I will recite you this short little poetry I written to you :


                                        The Guitarist

A real guitarist plays for passion,with purity of heart.
A guitarist, is an artist.
A real guitarist does not envy anybody. A guitarist does not hate anyone.

A guitarist following his religion and prays with his guitar.

When someone with a heart covered in mud, trying to defame the guitarist with hatred,
the guitarist gives him a compassionate hand to help this little man lost.

Because a real guitarist is a great man.

Who's Afraid of Capricho Arabe ?

 Each master of classical guitar playing Capricho Arabe fairly easily.

 It is easy to turn on the video camera to record and upload your video to YouTube.

But if you're not a guitar teacher this is a piece very difficult and full of pitfalls.
You must know how to use the touch perfectly,
free stroke and also the rest stroke to bring out the melody while you play the arpeggio.

Need a very clean sound and legato di frase.

Need a lot of classical guitar technique :arpeggio, glissato,
legato, portamento, rubato.

and what means all those italians words.
and how you can play it very good.
Because everything has to look easy, soft, natural.

We must consider the era in which the composer and guitarist Francisco Tarrega lived.
We must listen to the history of interpretation of this piece.

When I took the diploma of Conservatory of Music in Verona in 1992,
at that time I still could not play this piece perfectly but then I realized
that the musical scales, numerous wonderful Tarrega scales and cromatic scales of Capricho Arabe were virtuosity.

So then I studied these scales to sculpt the sound and go very fast with the rest stroke.

I have a great good fortune that all guitarists should learn:
I'm not envious when some great guitarist plays better than me.

So I recognize the merits of those guitarists
and so I can improve because I try to do the same.
This is also when I was 17 years old.
Envy is very dangerous in life, because it prevents you from improving.

Do not waste time and energy criticizing Segovia and John Williams 

and other great guitarists on You Tube. 

Try to understand how do they play so good.

Ask your guitar teacher advice, and let him play many examples of the pieces.

Be good people, and you become good guitarists.

How I like  João Pernambuco music ?
I like so much !

His music is so simple and ingenious at the same time.
I am fascinated by his hard life:
he was a janitor at the Conservatory of Music where Villa Lobos was the manager!

Look at this great website by Angelo Zaniol
dedicated to Joao Pernambuco !

The music of Pernambuco makes me very happy
it is not so easy to play
but then the satisfaction is great.

For "Sons de Carrilhoes" his most famous piece I used to play it with

as usual, some little change for a Daniele Magli rendition !


The study time for a guitarist gets shorter every year,
so I'm happy to play pieces of this level because I can study them in ten days
and my inspiration and desire to play them is great.

I hope you like my rendition, and, if you want to play Sons de Carrilhoes,
 I suggest you memorize it to enhance your musical memory.
