Even though I know my concert repertoire
100 percent by heart,
my hands are at 40 percent, and this causes
memory lapses in my left hand.
As we know, we guitarists
don't have the same note in a single position
like pianists, for example.
The notes are everywhere,
and the different fingering choices are mathematically
hundreds, if not thousands.
This causes memory lapses
if both the left and right hands are out of shape.
After a holiday or a period of inactivity it is important
to take up the classical guitar and return to playing
consistently to sculpt the pieces like a sculpture
by playing your repertoire slowly or very quickly.
